Saint Catherine of Siena (Catherine Benincasa) was a lay Italian mystic. She belong to the Third Order of the Dominican Order.

St. Catherine is best known for her mystical experiences and her dedication to serving God through prayer, penance, and acts of charity. She had a deep love for Jesus Christ and was said to have received visions and messages from God. She also played an important role in mediating conflicts within the Church and political leaders during her time.

Catherine was known for her strong personality and fearless spirit. She was a prolific writer and is famous for her letters, prayers, and theological treatises. She was also known for her devotion to the poor and sick, caring for them with great love and compassion.

Saint Catherine of Siena died in 1380 at the age of 33. She was canonized as a saint by Pope Pius II in 1461 and is considered one of the most important and influential Christian mystics in history.
